Hi, I am at my wits end with my almost 2.5 year old who constantly moans and whinges all day long! She has so many toys to play with and things to do, she’s always been so good at playing independently but recently all she wants to do is follow me around the house moaning. Even if we are out and about, she is moaning! I can’t find any physical cause and her speech is good, I just feel so impatient and cross all the time as quite frankly it’s doing my head in!
She’s also become a terrible sleeper. She wakes several times in the night screaming (again, I can’t find an obvious cause and most of the time she is still half asleep or doesn’t know what’s wrong). A few times we’ve given in and brought her into our bed but we don’t want that to become a habit and also it usually means she just ends up messing around in our bed, wanting to watch videos on my phone etc!
She’s usually such a good child but she’s just turned into a whingey child that doesn’t sleep and does not do as she is told! Admittedly she has previously watched a lot of TV (well not always watched but has it on in the background). We are now stopping this but I don’t know if it could have caused the behaviour?
I don’t know if this is just typical terrible 2’s and it will pass or if there is something I can do to help this behaviour? Thank you! 🥺
