IT's raining, so will do a muddy puddles walk, but any other ideas v gratefully welcomed. Feeling a bit lacking today!

I found this yesterday - there might be some ideas there?

Things ds1, 2.8, enjoys:

going to the local children's bookshop (you could go to the library?)

'helping' me to cook - e.g. if we bake scones I give him a bit of the ingredients in a little bowl and he stirs them

painting, which he enjoys more if it's an object rather than a surface - this week we bought a simple wooden 9 euro bedside table from Ikea and painted it together with normal children's paint - it'll be for his bedtime books. He also loves making paper chains (I cut, he sticks)

making music (you could make instruments from containers and lentils/beans)

books, books, books

we are going swimming today.

I was going to suggest swimming as well.

Or a playsite/soft play place with a friend

Hide and seek, playdough, making a tent with a sheet over a chair/ table, coffee shop for a babyccino thingy (hate the naff name but ds loves them). Get all his cars out for a car rally/ race, or teddy bears picnic.

Get a camera, take photos of the muddy puddle walk. Or draw pictures, or paint them and make a Muddy Puddle Story Book, for bedtime!
