My DD is 27 months and cannot walk up and down kerbs- she gets incredibly worried and wants to hold my hand to do it. She does look quite awkward but has done it once or twice on her own. She can walk up and down stairs but needs to hold onto the bannister. Should I speak to the HV?

She just wants to hold your hand when walking down as she is probably scared and wants help.. I don't understand why you would need to talk to your health visitor

My 4 year old still holds onto the bannister to walk up and down stairs. I really wouldn’t worry :)

Like a PP has said, its not something that you need to talk to a HV about. My 3yr DS (2)will sometimes walk up and down the stairs on his own or wants to hold on to my hand or even wants me to carry him if he has stuff in his hands.

It something that you will miss when they no longer want your help
