Potty Training - I need advice

DD is 2.5 years old, I think its probably time to start potty training but she dosnt really seem to be showing much interest in it. Can anyone tell me if this is normal? Should I try to start taking her to the potty? Any help please?

Perhaps you could start by putting her on the potty at the same time each day - I used to put dd on the toilet when I was running her bath. She also had a little seat on the toilet which she liked.

I think it is normal for some children not to be interested. Does she ever tell you if she needs to go to the loo? Does she have dry nappies? Do you think she has enough bladder control to be able to go?

At 2.5 she still is young, so I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself. Maybe have her with bare bottom at home and the potty lying around the house and see how she does. If she has loads of little accidents it might be that she hasn't got enough bladder control yet so you could wait a few months and try again.

She dosn't seem to be dry for any substantial amount of time and dosn't indicate that she'd like to use the toilet.
Thanks for the advice, maybe I should just leave it a little longer.

Leave it until she shows positive interest - you will save yourself a lot of washing of clothes and shampooing of carpets. I waited until both DD and DS expresssed interest - I offered them pants or nappy at monthly intervals, and they only had one accident each when we started. They also had much better bladder control than early trained friends - i.e. they could go much, much longer without needing a toilet/potty so trips out were very easy.
