18m old doesn't "play"

Hi All,

Just wanted some reassurance if poss.

All my 18 month old son seems to want to do is climb or chew things. He will knock things over if I build block towers or stack cups but he won't stack anything himself, roll a ball, put objects inside other objects, play with cars or animals, nothing.

He just doesn't "play" in the way that I would expect from what I've read or researched. Hi

I do sit with him and try to get him to play in different ways but he just isn't really interested. He's not interested in being read too either.

He's also not walking or saying any words yet, although they are not my main concerns.

Has anyone else had this with their little one(s)?

My daughter is 17 months old and does the exact same, when I build a tower with bricks or cups she just knocks it down... she finds it so funny 🤣
