Child has no friends whatsoever

My DD10 has no friends, at all. She used to be a very bubbly, (over) chatty little girl but over last year or so her confidence has been knocked completely and she is sad a lot of the time. She makes friends for a couple of weeks then they seem to go off her.. I can't figure out what the problem is. We moved a couple of years ago and the kids in our new street did exactly the same thing. Not just going off her but actively being mean to her. It's happened so often now I have to accept it must be something she is doing to drive them away. She goes to two clubs and although loves the activities she has made no friends. I've spoken to school and they haven't noticed a problem, but i have a very sad little girl who just wants to sit alone with her iPad. Really not sure what to do. Any advice?

Hi op , this sounds so upsetting for you and your DD 💐…. Think the first thing to start with are what do you observe when she is playing with other children? Is she controlling? Socially awkward ? Immature or more mature in relation to her peers? Or is it that there are social issues at play in that she doesn’t quite have the same things in common perhaps? I think I’d be inclined to arrange a individual play dates with a few nice girls and mums from her class and watch and then guide any social skills issues for myself .. it might be that it’s nothing to do with your DD at all and just misfortune with other kids xxx
