As the title says really I have been told by my DD’s class teacher that she is not coping well in school and will really struggle with the transition into Reception in September if things don’t improve.
Obviously I’m in bits 😢
Class teacher says she doesn’t listen to instructions and will not move away from a certain area of play for tidy up time for example as she is too engrossed in what she is doing.
Last Nov I had a phonecall from the teacher explaining she was very worried about DD (she’d only started in September for 2 hours a day) She said that she had zero understanding, a possible problem with her reflexes/fine motor skills as she wouldn’t drop her banana peel in the bin! That her legs were too far apart so she walked a bit ‘different’
We were dumbfounded as she speaks fluently to us and can complete these little tasks quite easily. We were told to get a HV out to do a home visit.
She came, she played her games and assessed DD and said in her opinion she had no concerns and that the pandemic has meant children have had very little social intervention and she is just 3/4 years old!
Am I right to be really worried about this? :( at home she is bright, knows all her colours, and numbers, shows empathy..
Any positive suggestions? ❤️
