Walking question 18 month old

My grandchild is nearly 18 months old . He doesn't crawl at all . Loves walking holding an adults hand. Can walk a few steps between 2 people. His legs are very straight and he doesn't bend to pick up stuff but sort of reaches down to pick up while his hand is held. He'll stand against sofa by himself but not cruise. He can't get from sitting . Very good fine motor skills.should my son be seeking help?

Hi, plenty of children don't walk until after 18months and are absolutely fine.
My little one didn't ever crawl either, she did bum shuffle though. She didn't really try to walk and would just sit if we let go of her when in standing position.
All the advice was saying to contact health visitor or doctor if not walking by 18 months. I saw our doctor (for an unrelated reason) and mentioned it and it she wasn't concerned at all and said that she would walk when she was ready. And shortly after she just decided to start walking.
Your son could mention it to HV or doctor but i'm sure your grandson will walk in his own time. I would take it as a good sign that he can stand against sofa and walk holding hands.

@Stargazer89 thank you that's very reassuring.
