Is 1 too young for a pillow?

DD seems to be getting increasingly uncomfortable and tosses and turns and ends up sleeping on her side with head tipped right back and tilted down awkwardly. 1 does seem rather young incase she smothers herself but how can I make her more comfy?

I put a pillow underneath one end of my dd's cot mattress, it gets raised slightly making her more comfortable but stops any risk of smothering.

dd2 is 1 tomorrow and will probably be flamed but she has had a pillow for the past couple of weeks along with a cotbed duvet..she actually thrashes about a lot less now which means no brusing from the cot bars.

DD2 coslept on my pillow from an early age and at 1 she was in her own cot with a pillow, she actually snuggles into the pillow and I could never get it off her.

DS1 had a medical foam wedge from 4 months - you can now get them fro Toys r us and DS2 the same from birth and moved to a pillow from 10 months.

I know they are not supposed to until a year old, but I got the really good expensive ones - its to do with them getting their head stuck under it and sufforkating

My dd refused a pillow until she was about 4 - I put the pillow slip on the bed at the top but she was happy lying there without one (she has had one for about 3 years now). Be careful your LO doesn't use the pillow to get extra height to climb out of the cot with....
