Mummy likes mornings and hates staying up late. Daddy is a nightowl but finds it harder to wake in the morning. Emily is gorgeous and 4 months old. (favourite song is wheels on the bus)
How it used to be: I would go up in evening, change Emily, breast feed (usually till I feel asleep!) while Daddy locked up and prepared bottle. He would come up, give Emily bottle, read to her and she sleeps till around 6/7. Mummy (feeling quite refreshed.......well sometimes!) Would wake with Emily, feed, change etc and take downstairs for Daddy to sleep (depending on his shifts).
How it is now: Emily wants Mummy after 8/9 in eve. Screams if Daddy gives her a bottle. She takes both breast and bottle from me and I stay up with her. She's falling asleep later and later, doesn;t seem to matter how much she sleeps in the day. Husband has offered to get up and feed her but its usually her best breast feed of the day and...if I'm honest I LOVE feeding her in bed then getting her ready for the day.
I know Mum's are supposed to be knackered but I wonder if you wise folks have any advise or reassurance because:
Mummy is VERY tired, even when snatched a nap in the day and getting grumpy. Daddy is sad that he no longer has his special bottle time and that he has a grumpy wife (he'd never say it!)
Any suggestions?
