Teething at 9 weeks?

My child is nearly 10 weeks at 81/2weeks he started to show signs of teething chewing head outbursts of crying (signs of pain) chewing on my finger, feeling relieved with teething ringsThis started after having his needles he's confusing the pain with hunger.
My question is is he actually teething at this young age?
What more can I do with soothing his gums?
After calpol he is happy and will play and then sleep for a long time after fighting it I know they use a lot of energy doing small things.
