My 2 year old seems so unhappy from morning until night, she won't play with her toys without me, any activities we do she loses interest after 5 minutes, we go to the supermarket she screams the whole time, go for a walk wants to be carried the whole way, go to the park just wanders around crying, tried nursery but she cried the entire time so we've stopped that now, it's exhausting I have no help or no break I'm just at a loss of what to do 😢

Has she seen a doctor?

No I've not taken her to a doctor as she doesnt seem to be ill just incredibly grumpy do you think that's something I should maybe do?

Our health visitor has said she thinks its out of frustration as she can communicate very well she's not very verbal

Maybe if you've ruled out obvious causes, teething, constipation. Might be worth just ringing them and seeing if they have any ideas.

Hmm…a lot of this is hard but normal. Not playing alone, losing interest after 5 minutes, wanting to be carried instead of walking is all normal at 2. I guess the crying depends on how distractible she is. If she’s at the supermarket and you give her her favourite snack or her favourite toy or your phone, is she happy? If she’s upset at the park and you pick her up or take her home is she better? I know it may feel like she cries at everything, but is there ever occasions, people or things that you know will make her happy?

Thankyou for replying it's a bit of a comfort to know its normal for a 2 year old although every child I seem to see looks so happy it just makes me feel I'm not doing something right, I will try the phone next time we go to the supermarket that's a great idea, she's happy when her nanny visits which isn't very often, when we are at the park and she cries if I say shall we go home she cries even more,I'm hoping as he language and communication develops she will be happier.
