HELP....! My 3 week old is refusing to be put down for more than a few minutes. I've tried leaving her to cry for a short while but nothing seems to comfort her

She is breast fed and is refusing a dummy. Has anyone any ideas????

Have you checked that all is okay with your HV just incase its something like reflux? However, a sling might help, at least then you can be hands free and be able to get on with other things with a hopefully happy baby at the same time!

Thanks for that, I'll take her to the HV clinic. I'll give a sling a go, it must be easier than carrying her around all day

at 3 weeks my dd was like that - she'd fall fast asleep on me but would wake up as soon as her head hit the Moses basket. I felt like I never moved from teh sofa and my arm was aching from holding her all day. Swaddling worked for us - we were able to get her down without her startle reflex waking her up. Now she is great at sleeping - anywhere but on me - and I miss those lovely snuggly baby cuddles!

Tight swaddling worked for mine at this age.

My DD was like this and would only sleep on my chest and as soon as I put her down would wake up and cry. So I (deep breath) put her down to sleep on her front.....the position she was sleeping in on me & it worked a treat.
