I'm looking for signs/behaviours you noticed in your younger kids that have now been diagnosed? Thank you x

Slept only 3 hours a night. Until he was about 6. Not solid hours either. 10 mins here 30 mins there. We always had to be out doing something to try and wear him out, although nothing ever did!
Constantly on the go, constantly needing to be entertained, destructive, quick to throw a tantrum & often lashing out. He was always accidentally hurting us & others because he couldn’t walk in a straight line, would be stepping on our toes, tripping us up, bashing into us.
Couldn’t walk across a practically empty playground without bumping into another child. We had to constantly have our eyes on him. Super focused on whatever interested him and couldn’t be dragged away to do things that needed doing. Very hard work.

Sleeping was horrendous. She survived on very little sleep.

Tbh though, everything else, you could have said would be typical of a lot of toddlers. She was always talking, always jumping, always moving, listening was terrible. But that's the case for a lot of wee kids so you genuinely don't know until they're a bit older.

She was diagnosed at 6 because she didn't improve, she just stood out more and more the older she got.

My son is 4.5 and I suspect he might have ADHD and perhaps some sensory issues but I often get shut down with "it's just his age, he'll grow out of it" "that's just how boys are" etc. But he's potentially going to start school in august though I am considering keeping him in nursery for another year. Is it worth trying to speak to anyone about it or will they just tell me to wait and see if he grows out of it?
