Hi
Anyone else have a 9 month old that simply cannot and will not crawl? I know that some babies skip this stage entirely and that there is a wide range of when babies will crawl... but when all the other babies are crawling and cruising around and my DD is a little lump sat on the floor it feels quite difficult!
DD can sit unaided happily for ages and plays with toys well. Developing well in all other areas - eats solids great, babbling and now says Dada and Cat, waves hello/goodbye. Sleeping well. But just will not entertain crawling!
Have tried putting toys out of reach to encourage and also had DS (older bro) move about to get DD to try and move too. All DD can do (which has been very recently) is kind of swivel about very slowly on her bum to reach in different directions, and by doing that plus stretching really wide to reach something she manages to move a tiny bit at a time. Have done lots of tummy time and she can push up on arms fine, but will not pull knees under her - even if I try and place her knees in that position (she just pushes them back and then lifts her arms and does superman!).
She's not pulling up yet on furniture but often tugs my arms/trousers and wants me to offer my hands for her. She then uses my hands to stand herself up and happily loves walking round the kitchen holding my hands. She's always so happy sitting up or standing up.
Anyone have experiences of slow or non-existent crawlers? Anything I can do to help her?
