Toddler reins?

Just wondered if anyone has any recommendations for toddler reins? Hadn't realised there were so many different types! My little one (just turned 15 months) is toddling about the house & relatives homes quite the thing now so I feel we are nearly ready to go out without pram. Just need to get to Clarks for a new pair of shoes and buy some reins. Have been looking at the rucksack ones or the Trunki toddlePak but I just don't know..any advice?

This thread is a bit old now, so if you have landed here looking for recommendations, we have recently updated our guide to the best toddler reins with products tried, tested and recommended by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful.

We used one of the SkipHop rucksacks with a rein, and it worked well for us. DD was generally happy to wear it (still chooses to use it now sometimes now at 2.5, although we rarely if ever use the rein part now), no problems with her escaping it or getting tugged off balance.

@skkyelark not a very exciting thread admittedly lol - thank you for your help - I will go check out SkipHop Smile

I found the rucksack ones weren't very good if they were a bit unstable on their feet, you can't catch them before they fall over! We have the cuggl reins from argos which fit well and have been very useful
