Hi, my baby is 11 months old, he is one very soon, he is losing interest in formula rapidly. He currently has 3x6ounce bottle with water making up another 6 ounces, so his fluid is plenty. I only give him formula in a bottle and water in his sippy cup. But he is drinkig less and less of his bottle, and obviously water has little nutritional value, is it too young to give him full fat cows milk in his cup?they are allowed it in creal from 6 months and he has had no problem digesting it, and i know they are allowed it from aged 1.
i have tried formula in his cup, he throws it down lol!
Did anyone just change to cows milk at age one or continue with formula?
He eats so much fruit and veg so i am not worried about him not getting enough dietry vitamins....

I'd give him it personally.

I gradually changed to cows milk because DD didn't like cows milk at first but if your DS is happy to take it then I'd have thought it'd be OK. My DD will still only take milk from a bottle. Will not have it in any kind of cup, beaker, spouted thingy and I figure that I'd rather she had some milk and in a bottle than none at all.

So would I.

He may just be one of those babies who goes off drinking formula and milk for a bit (mine was like this, especially when I took her bottles away). If so, I would load up his food with milk, e.g. by making meals with creamy or cheese sauces, giving lots of yogurt etc.

You could try giving formula from a beaker, and gradually mix it with regular full fat milk and change over to regular milk at 12 months. As long as he has a good diet, with greens and meat (for iron?) as cow's milk doesn't contain iron whereas baby milk does. I hope I'm right on that one, but I remember the HV explaining this to me.
