14 month old stopped talking

Hi!

My 14 month old girl used to say maybe 8 words or so regularly shortly after her 1st birthday. She took her first steps about 11 months and started walking solidly around her first birthday. She now says very little... she babbles to herself and will occasionally say 'Daddy' or 'hello' but even that is rare.

I assume her focus has been taken up by walking and she's so mobile now she needs less words but it's been a month and she's saying increasingly less.

Is this normal does anyone know? Has anyone else experienced it/is experiencing it? How long before I should be worried?

Thank you!

I've not experienced it sorry @Woodkey.

If she's still it talking as much by 15 months I'd do the MChat Test, just to see if there is any risk of ASD.

Hi @BunnyRuddington, thanks for your response. I was wondering if it was an early indicator... she has a few eccentricities that when we google, autism is always the top response.

I am recently being encouraged to pursue a diagnosis myself so it is not unexpected and she has been developmentally generally very early so would not be a surprise. Just interested to here if others have experienced something similar ASD or otherwise & how long it lasts.

Thank you ☺️
