22 month old - Shy toddler

Hello,

My DC is 22 months old, raised as bilingual as we don't speak UK at home and a bit behind with her speech (just few single words) although her receptive language is great. She also goes at the nursery full time.

She is really happy and active at home, she likes painting, role play at her little kitchen, petting our dog etc. and understands commands well.

However, when she is in a very stimulating environment like a baby gym class or a baby ballet class she gets automatically very shy.

She attaches on me, doesn't speak, doesn't do much and just observes... Other kids in the class are much more active, are jumping around and get more engaged at the class.

Is this all normal or should I worry?

It's my first kid and I don't know what to expect, so I just compare her to her other classmates...

Thank you :)
