my baby has been rolling since 12 weeks, sitting unaided by 3.5 months, and just started crawling, putting himself into the sitting position and pulling up to stand. He’s 6 months old. Do you think he will be walking soon? according to my health visitor he is very advanced as he also says mama, dada, uh oh, yay, he can clap and also passes objects between hands ect.

I’m so proud that he’s doing so well but i’m nervous i’m not doing enough to keep up with him! He seems bored of his toys, would it be okay to buy toys that are older than his age? What else can I do to keep him learning?

thank you.

Sounds like he’s doing very well.

It’s ok to give him household objects and older kids toys as long as there are no small parts that he might choke on and any batteries are screwed in.

My DD has been early with some things, and I've always gone with what suits her, rather than an age on a box – but with due attention to choking hazards or just things that might not survive being chewed on during a bout of teething, e.g., some jigsaw puzzles were closely supervised when teething.

I would be careful what you wish for, an early walker can be a bit of a nightmare as they might not have the cognitive ability to understand no if they are about to do something dangerous!
