From steps to fully walking

My then 14 month old, now 15 month old took his first steps Christmas Day (around 2 weeks ago). He then stopped for almost a week. And picked it back up again last week. Since then he's done about 10 steps at a time max between me and his dad. But daily he's probably doing 5 steps at a time from the sofa to me a few times a day. Besides that he doesn't seem that bothered. He walks loads holding my one finger but besides that prefers to crawl. I just didn't know if he should be progressing a bit faster? I.e walking a bit more than he is and be more interested?

It all sounds pretty normal. Sometime they can find walking slow or they lack a bit of confidence. Sounds like he's getting there, just at his own pace Smile

Mine took about a month from taking first steps to prefering to walk over crawling and did this weird spider crawl half walk half crawl for a few weeks Grin I think it's dependent on their personality and not really anything to worry about as long as they're walking by 18MO x

DD took about 6 weeks from first steps to preferring walking. Then she learnt to turn corners whilst walking, and that was it, crawling was done (except for things like stairs).
