19 month old….sleep regression??

help! i think i’m at my whits end.
my 19 month old son is quite literally refusing to go to sleep.
yesterday he didn’t go down until 11pm!! usual bed time is 7, i work full time and shattered to say the least.
i’m trying to keep at his usual pattern, putting him in bed at usual time, bath etc, milk etc etc.

is this sleep regression? after looking it up it seems to be the only thing that it could be.
it’s not that he’s unwell because it’s literally only bed time he’s like this

in all fairness the nursery did let him sleep for ALMOST FOUR HOURS today. which probably is not at all helping.

am i wrong to just let cry it out? i really don’t know what to do. help!! Sad

Hi @grcxo, sorry you're going through a tough time. We're just giving your thread a bump - hopefully some Mumsnetters will be along soon with some advice. Brew

Hi,

My 18 month was exactly the same for a couple of weeks but has now gone back to his usual sleep routine. I think they go through so many development stages and regressions its sometimes hard to figure out what is actually happening. Stick to your usual routine, remain patient and he will hopefully fall back into his usual sleep routine. My little one tends to want to do anything but sleep as soon as i put him to bed so i let him play, jump up and down a bit and then eventually he gives in after 30 minutes or so and falls asleep Smile
