10 week old screaming

My 10 week old boy is the happiest, most content baby all day and night, smiling all the time, sleeping 9 hours at night with no problems. Over the last few evenings he will just randomly start hysterically crying with real tears. He is showing classic signs of teething (young I know, but it seems to be that all babies in my family teeth really early) he does eventually settle after some calpol but it's heartbreaking as it's like real pain. Does anyone else's baby do this?

Does he show any signs of colic? My son started teething at six weeks but he was never screaming in pain for it. However he did get colic and that would cause him to cry uncontrollably until we changed the formula we were using. It would always be a similar time of the day as well that this would happen. It might be worth looking at the symptoms of colic and seeing if there is a pattern to these periods. It's horrible to see them upset and I hope you find a solution.

He is on exclusive breast milk and I do give infacol but he is really good at getting his wind up. Mystery

It might be worth speaking to your doctor or public health nurse if it carries on for much longer. My son's colic kicked off at 6 weeks, he was good at getting his wind up but would go through a period in the evening where he would be in pain and drawing his legs up to his chest. He is combination feed due to a tongue tie but when we changed the formula we were using to a comfort one for easier digestion it cleared up within 12 hours. Hope you find something that helps
