Constantly Moody 7 year old?

Our 7 year old son is just constantly moody. Doesn't get massively excited anymore and just sounds quite rude in how he responds to people. An example was to grandparents last week - they asked him questions and he would ignore or very blunty respond. Tonight we sent him to bed really early as his attitude was generally just very poor and then when we said we didn't like his behaviour he responded by saying no-one likes him etc which gave me a massive guilt trip- he did fall asleep early and he has been waking up early all throughout December. Needless to say I got mummy guilt and went and kissed him and told him I loved him. Now i just feel rubbish at work and that we haven't done something right at home for him to have such a poor attitude. Nothing really sets it off. Always been easily emotional over small things- but for us at the moment it is just his attitude and how he says things and responds. Any suggestions? Have taken away all tech and pokemon cards will be next if it continues.

Why have you taken away his tech? Because he spoke bluntly? That's a bit harsh OP. Children get emotional and sometimes rude over Christmas...

Does he get enough one to one time with you and with his Dad? In general? LIke...how much time per day do you spend playing with him or actively focusing on him?
