swear at you ??

My DD9 on occasion swears. I correct it and reinforce that we know the words but don't use.

I dont swear as a rule.

Today she has sworn at me calling me a 'stupid bitch'.

Thoughts please........

No. Mine are teens now and still wouldn't be allowed to get away with that one.

In this house, dropping something and saying "Shit" is treated very differently to saying "You are a shit" to another family member.

The former isn't great but not nearly as bad as the second for obvious reasons. Tbh by upper juniors my kids were well aware that swear words weren't ok at school and they'd be in trouble for using them in hearing shot of an adult and to suck it up if told off.

In practice at age 9 they swore less than a handful of times in a year. If it was frequent I may have changed my expectations but it worked for our family. They've never been in trouble for swearing at school
