Are babies supposed to do this?

My DS is 7.5 months old and the last 2 days he’s rocked himself back and forward a number of times. He’s done it in his highchair, in my arms whilst I’m holding him and in his jumperoo. It’s quite scary to witness as I’ve not seen any other babies do it. My 3 year old didn’t do this.

He’s also a really quiet, placid baby. I’m worrying there is something wrong with him.

It's been a while since mine were babies and I honestly can't remember. Hopefully someone will be along soon who knows more Smile

One of mine did that, won't lie it scared the life out of me BUT it was just a phase and stopped quite quickly. I think it was just one of those baby things where they have discovered they can.

I wouldn't worry about being quiet and placid, I don't think it means anything other than he's taking the world in. My quiet and placid baby DD is a whirlwind three year old with no health issues and she had the most horrific start to her little life. Try not to worry too much x

Thank you so much. My 3 year old was so volatile as a baby! If I stopped the car at traffic lights he’d scream. Whereas my new son is quite content looking out the window, like an adult just looking out the window taking it all in.
