Why wouldn't you?

ibroughtxmascake · 19/12/2007 20:08

How do you mean? Are you worried about the temp or the waves or what?

We took DD in the sea last year and she loved it, I think it was September so it wasn't cold, I think she'll be fine.

RubySlippedonastraymincepie · 19/12/2007 20:08

DS splashed around very happily in the sea, and ate a lot of sand when we went away

he was about 15 months then

ChasingSquirrelsUpTheXmasTree · 19/12/2007 20:11

well mine couldn't swim but went in the sea abroad at 10mo (western France) and 9mo (Cyprus) respectively.

We were visiting my sister who had taken her Sea Ranger crew away for the weekend to a cottage by the river. The girls were all in the river canoeing and windsurfing and I took dd in for a bob about. She was used to the sea anyway as we live on the coast, but the river is a bit colder. She was absolutely fine - so Majorca in July will definitely be OK.

tastychristmaspud · 19/12/2007 20:23

I took my two year old in the sea last March in Spain.

He was OK until the tsunami hit. I don't think he'll be going back there any time soon.

ChasingSquirrelsUpTheXmasTree · 19/12/2007 20:24

sorry no NOT TOO COLD, I meant that you couldn't seriously think that it would be too cold in July in Majorca. It will be perfect! Your dad is mad.

I took my dd in the sea in Sweden when she was 7 months old, she loved it!

tastychristmaspud · 19/12/2007 22:41

She would have been just over 1 when she first went in the sea in this country. I very quickly invested in a wetsuit for her when it became apparent that she wasn't happy being taken out as she was cold! I'm sure she would have stayed in until she froze solid!
