Home or hospital birth?

Hello, I am currently writing my human graduate dissertation whioch critically analyses different birthing environments. I have not had any children in my life and was wondering which is a better environment and how do you choose? If anyone could help me out that would be fab

I preferred a hospital birth because I was worried about unforeseen complications in birth that would have needed a doctor. So before the birth I felt happier being in a hospital environment. After the birth, being in hospital was awful because there was no privacy, you were living out of a bag in a small cubicle, and there was activity all around you day and night. It was much nicer to be at home. So I can definitely see why some people prefer a home birth.
