Does anyone else have a failsafe line they use on the children when it's just easier than a row???

Our main one is;

CHILD:I'm not tired.
PARENT:Well, that's not a problem, I didn't say it was sleeptime, I said it was bedtime. You just have to lay in your bed, I'll be up to check on you in a few minutes and if you're still not asleep then you can come back downstairs. I'll have to turn your light off though because otehrwise you'll keep the birds awake and they are tired.

Well, it may not be totally failsafe, but it has worked on my DS for the last two months

I tell my daughter she can read in bed, but turn the light off so she doesn't keep her sister up, I give her a book, she buys it everytime and falls asleep in seconds.

Maybe they can see in the dark?
