Hi my daughter will be 9 in march. Just recently she's just started being really cheeky to me and ignoring me if I tell her to stop doing something or telling me "no". She's becoming quite argumentative. She also says cruel things to her little sister. I know siblings are just like that sometimes though. She usually gets things taken away from her if she's cheeky or mean or she gets sent to her room but it hasn't helped. I've tried talking to her to see if there's anything bothering her like at school or anything and she says there's isn't. What can I do?

She's possibly getting hormonal already...one thing I found helped was spending more one to one time. Both of my DDs were like this...I found they need a lot of one to one as they approach puberty.

I know that your DD is only 8 and puberty seems a long way away...but it's probably not...it really starts at about 9 with hormonal changes. Some kids get it faster and periods arrive then.

Oh and a good diet! When my DDs have too many sugars or additives, their behaviour definitely worsens.

@FortunesFave thank you. I'll give that a go 🙂
