Sitting before rolling

Hi all,

My DS is 5 and a half months can sit upright unaided for about 2 mins or so, I'm pretty sure I'm a few weeks he'll have mastered it but he's still not rolling! He rolled from his front to his back about a month ago and has not done it since, and has only once rolled from his back to his front, but this was with a lot of encouragement/ maybe a slight push from me!

I read of your LO is not rolling by 6 months you should contact your HV. Do you think this is something I should do if he's still not rolling?

Had anyone else's LO sat before they have rolled?

Thanks!

My DS didn’t roll!! He started sitting upright at 6 months and didn’t roll until he started crawling, around 8 months. It was like he just couldn’t be bothered with the rolling phase!

My DD also sat unaided before rolling. She didn’t roll until 8.5 months!

Some never roll, if she's sitting up unaided I wouldn't worry she'll probably get to rolling later but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with her x

I can't see how it is physically possible for her to be able to sit but not roll? Have you tried rolling her? Because it seems like you have tried sitting her if i make sense? You put her to sit and she sits? Put her to roll, roll her and she'll roll maybe?

Sorry if I sound blunt and flippant I have had wine but I am trying to understand the problem

@NoKnit sorry only just seen this! Little one has not been well for awhile. So he's rolling now, turns out he was just being lazy/mum was giving him things when really he should've been reaching for it himself
