2 month old head control

Hi all,

I’m a first time mum and have a 2 month old baby. She only ever sleeps with her head to the left or right and is unable to turn her head side to side when she is on her back. She just lies there with her head to the side. I think she has quite good control of her head as I can pick her up with little support of her head now. Just wondering if this is normal?

It was for my child at that age. I had to turn her head for her. Google head lag and how to check for it. Otherwise sounds fine xxx

That’s reassuring, when did she start to do it on her own? Xxx

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing with my baby now. She is 9 weeks old (was born 3 weeks early) and always turns head to the left when lying flat, I have to turn it towards me or the other side. Reassuring to see your post but also unsure whether this is normal!

Update-she is 10 weeks now and still unable to turn her head from side to side! Unsure if this is till normal xxx
