16 mth old dosnt sleep at night

he can sometimes be up for 3/4 hours before going back to sleep. we have tried everything we can think of controlled crying he cried for 5 hours. He wont rock cuddle or anyhting just screams and screams and we are all on the point of collapse any advice?

I had a dd who did this till she was 2. We ended up taking a teddy to bed with us for a couple of nights and letting her sleep with it. Like you we tried everything and I was shattered. This seemed to work.

Does he sleep during the day? What time does he go to bed? What time is he normally waking up?

And is he teething?

i wish it was temporary but hes never slept through. He had colic till he was 12 months which didnt help. He used to feed to sleep but wont even do that now and ive even climbed into his cot to be with him and still screams. he gets up between 5 and 6 has a hours nap and goes down about 7.

But when is he waking for the 3/4 hour stints?
