Worried about 11 month old!!!

I'm a bit concerned that my 11 month old has some sort of communication or speech delay, well that's what someone has suggested he has anyway!

I'm looking for some reassurance or if anyone has something similar, but basically my little boy isn't pointing, waving or saying any words at all yet. He started walking at 10.5 months and he can clap, understands certain words and sentences and he does babbling sounds. He used to say Mama but stopped, although I think it was just a sound not an actual word.

Should I be concerned? I'm panicking I've done something wrong. I'm going to call the HV tomorrow x

Is he just 11 months @Gabriella93 or is he nearly 12 months?

Just asking as ICan do a progress checker for speech for 12 month olds.

Babbling, understanding a few things, and clapping sounds on track for 11 months to me. It's on the early side for pointing and meaningful words – most seem to point somewhere between 12-15 months, although it's not 'late' until 18 months. There's a huge range for when words come, but not having any at 11 months is certainly very common.

If you want to check his progress, at just turned 11 months, you'd expect him to be 'in the white' on the 10 month ASQ (www.cshp.net/media/2077/asq-3-10-mo-set-b.pdf) but perhaps not quite there yet on the 12 month one (www.ehsflexpd.com/ASQ-3%2012%20Mo%20Set%20B.pdf), as he's just at the beginning of the age range. Do check the scoring sheet at the end – they never expect 6 'yes' answers.
