Milk monster going off his milk

Hi all,

My DS is a week shy of 5 months and for the last few weeks I've noticed he's not as interested in his milk.

Up until now he's been a MASSIVE milk monster and would take a bottle even if he wasn't "hungry" but now it seems that's he's just not as fussed. He's well in himself with the exception of some eczema (and a few loose stools) and he's not dramatically stopped drinking - more like instead of the usual 8 oz he drinks within 15 mins, it's more like 6 within 30!

Has anyone else experienced this? My mum said it could be because he's getting "bored" of the taste and I should start to introduce food?? That being said he has just gone back to sleep after drinking a full 8 oz!

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Thanks 😊

Sounds totally normal and I've just never got the being bored of the taste thing, it's definitely not mentioned in the NHS guide to starting solids - signs of readiness Smile

I read lots of threads about babies around this age going off their milk, I’m beginning to think it’s a phase they all go through!

That being said, have you tried a faster teat? 6oz in 30 minutes is quite a long time, maybe the flow is too slow for him now?
