Hi there! 🙂

I came to this forum in hopes more experienced people can give me some insight!

My 4.5 year old randomly walked past me and said “you hurt me” whilst he walked past in a calm tone. The odd thing is, I’ve never put a finger on him and i just can’t explain why he would have said that in the way that he did.

Do children just say random illogical things?!

Any insight is very much appreciated 🙂.

Well two immediate thoughts:

1.Could he just be repeating something he's heard? For context my 3 year old often tells me our cat bites her and it really hurts but we don't have a cat and neither do any of her little friends . After hours of checking her all over and seeing no cat bites anywhere I have concluded it's something she's imagined or heard or possibly a game she's been playing....😬

  1. Is this more of a concern? Do you have any concerns about any of the environments he's in when you can't see him and be absolutely sure he's ok?

Oh don’t get me wrong, I have absolutely no concern about his well-being. He is an incredibly happy go lucky boy, larger than life and just and incredibly wonderful little young man.

It just seemed odd that he made that remark so calmly as he walked by. I’ve asked my parents about this and they explained “children are just not logical and will say anything for any reason or no reason at all”.

Unfortunately my adult brain can’t comprehend that 😂.
