Grumpy 9 month old

My 9 month old is still so grumpy all day. He sleeps well and naps well but seems tired all the time, weaning has been stressful and he doesn’t have more than a few mouthfuls really, but loves milk.

He’s extremely happy when he first wakes from a nap and I come in the room (smiles, laughs and bouncing up and down) as soon as I lay him down to change his nappy he’s whinging, he’s so clingy, climbing all over me then wants to get down instantly - all day! Not very often does he play on his own and if he does, the second he spots me he cries.

I understand it’s the age for separation anxiety, but he’s been quite miserable and serious from birth and I just wondered if anyone else is the same and figured out a reason as I’m wondering if there’s an underlying issue? Or do I just have a miserable baby 😔

He had 4 sessions of cranial Osteopathy when he was about 2 months old and they said they didn’t feel he needed it, I’ve been dairy free when I was breastfeeding, and he was on reflux medicine as a newborn for a while, so I feel we’ve exhausted all the obvious but it just never seems to end.

We still can’t go out for the day or out for a meal because he’s jsut Whingy and won’t nap anywhere but his cot, I just feel like I’m stuck the house a lot or to his nap times

How are you OP abs how was the birth? From what you've posted I get the feeling that you might not be feeling 100%?

@PanicBuyingSprouts
I have just started sertraline about 2.5 weeks ago for PND, so getting better but am fully aware that has probably what’s made the last 9 months so hard too.
I did try to get some help when he was 4 months old and just got palmed off but spoke to the doctor about a month ago again.
But thank you for asking

Glad you've sought some help for yourself, I'd guessed you were feeling low.

Have they offered any talking therapies as well as Sertraline or told you of any local groups for Mums with PND?
