Potty training?

We were woken up to the delightful announcement yesterday, over the monitor "Nappy Change! Yes, coming out! Yes, coming out! Yes!! Coming out!!!........All coming out!" Sure enough, our DD had done a big morning poo. Last night, I popped her in the bath and said, "Can you do a wee wee?" and she looked down, looked as if she was waiting for something, and then did a wee! Should we bother now, or wait? She's only 18 months.

my DD2 is the same age and is doing the same as yours. I think it is too early to start potty training but I suppose there is no reason why you can't give it a try if you are very relaxed about it.

We have plonked DD2 on the potty several times (at her request) but she just finds it all very hilarious and falls off

Wow my youngest is 20months and would not be able to form that sentence!! Should I be worried?

As for the potty training I read somewhere recently 18- 24 is good timing to begin training.

My 20 month says poo just before or after going so this is the first step, I have on two occasion sat her on the potty for it and she has gone, but I am just taking it as it comes.

Its no harm to start her training but she will have a much better grasp on things by 2ish

I had my first ds trained at 22m and 2nd at 24m 3rd at 26.

I would go with it if she seems ready! as all kids are different. I really don't think it will cause her any problems to start early even its just getting her used to sitting on the loo or potty.

Good luck!

I wouldn't mind trying but the kitchen and bathroom are the only non-carpet floors and they are sooooo cold, her poor bottom will freeze onto the potty !! so maybe I'll wait til it warms up!
