Advice on getting rid of dummy

Hi,

My son is 2 next week and is dummy crazy! Honestly he wants it 24/7. I have noticed it has now started to affect his teeth. The top set are very curved. I now want to obviously try and fix it so know the dummy needs to go! I'll be honest with you I find it easier when we're in the house but sometimes we can be out shopping in the middle of Sainsbury's and he will suddenly kick off screaming for his dummy and sometimes I'll just give it to him to save the ordeal and stress.
Obviously I know this isn't the right thing to do. Does anybody have any advice or tips on what I can do?

I would just bin them and ride out the tantrums if you can. Does he have any other comforters like a cuddly toy?
