16 month old ds having huge tantrums

I have a 3yr old DD so you'd think I would know how to handle this.

DS is having huge tantrums if he cant get what he wants, this results in him hitting and throwing things and screaming hysterically. I cant remember DD being quite so bad. Hell ask for something over and over again and once you say 'no you cant have the xyz' he goes mental.

Ive been ignoring it and walking away but not sure if this is the right thing to be doing.

This must be a nightmare! I think walking away and saying nothing is probubly the right thing to do. He won't understand reasoning or punishment. If he realises it gets him no attention then maybe he'll eventually stop it or calm down at least. But what ever you do don't ever give in to it and give him what he wants as he'll think that tantrums are an ideal way of getting what he wants. Good Luck! I don't envy you!

Hello!

I am in exactly the same position with dd2 (same age, same meltdowns)

I also have an older dd who wasn't like this...

Good fun, isn't it?
