Have a 3yo DC no real worries or concerns. I know I'm not the favourite parent but hey ho, then today out of the blue, they turn to me and say 'Benji (their favourite cuddly) doesn't like you' 'he's scared of you'.

WTAH, DC doesn't talk through Benji, he has his own distinct personality...but it's clearly part of DC's, I'm flabbergasted and so upset, like I said I know I'm not the favourite, I have bouts of now very very well controlled depression but I know I'm not as fun as and can be more grumpy than DP, but for them to be scared of me. I just can't understand it. I'm also terrified that they may say that to a teacher at nursery or their grandparents.

What do I do? It came out of nowhere, we've just had a lovely if busy and fun week at center parcs which makes the timing even more odd.

... don’t overthink this OP, 💐kids say all sorts of odd things! If they were truly scared of you they wouldn’t tell you xx

Did you ask DC "why does Benji not like me"? That would be my question, like almost like a conversation about your daily life, not emotional just clinical. It may be something really silly that you said or did and you may feel better after (like you crossed the road at the wrong light or you drank from the wrong mug, who knows with toddlers!?).
