My ds is 12 weeks (he’s my second child) and spends basically the majority of his waking hours crying. My first ds was full on with colic so I know what that feels like, but DS2 seems to be getting more full on not better. I had to leave a baby group cos he was crying so loudly, I brought Sainsbury’s to a standstill with his screaming last week….. I just want to cry every day because I literally can’t go anywhere without him crying. He’s had his milk changed and thickened to help reflux, he doesn’t seem to have any health issues. He wakes from a nap and the first thing when he opens his eyes is mega loud crying. I’m at my wits end. People tell me it’s colic and it will end but I’m not so sure. Feel like I’m wishing the weeks away.

You have my sympathy as my first was a crier.

If he's got reflux, could it be CMPA rather than colic?

Pam0077 · 22/09/2021 18:45

The GP seems to think it isn’t CMPA although he does have reflux but we manage that with formula thickener. I keep thinning this will pass but I can’t see a light at the end of the tunnel at the moment.

Why does the GP think it isn't CMPA? Have they said why?

Did you have a read of the link abs did anything sound familiar?

Pam0077 · 22/09/2021 22:10

GP said reflux and just didn’t entertain the allergy saying not enough symptoms. It’s so hard isn’t it!!

Ok so did you read the info I posted? Do they have any of those symptoms?

Pam0077 · 23/09/2021 10:55

A few….tummy related ones. Thanks for the link I think I will go back to my GP. x

Yes sorry, that's why I was pushing about reading the link. Lots of HCPs seem to be unaware of the non-ige symptoms and dismiss an allergy if there's no eczema.
