2 Year Old - Severe Meltdowns

Hi

Any advice appreciated.

My DS just turned 2 in August... and I know they call it the terrible 2's but well, this is kind of shocking.

If you say "No" to him over anything or take something off him he has complete meltdowns for ages... and I mean complete meltdowns where he turns purples, squeals, and puts things in his mouth as if to injure himself. There are times I think he might stop breathing and it scares me. He is deeply upset and takes me ages to settle him again.

Autism does run in my partners side but I'm not convinced he has it. He is sociable etc and shows no other signs bar these meltdowns over being told No...

Is this power for the course and he will just grow out of it? Is he just strong willed? Or should I investigate further?

Thnx

If ASD runs in the family, it's certainly worth doing the MChat test to see what his risk is.
