Eye contact - 6 month old

How much eye contact should an almost 6 month old really be making?
He will, but not for very long.
He smiles back and giggles back to you, but eye contact not that regular.
Anyone able to advise? Thanks!

Thanks. He just doesn't do any the 'staring up at you' stuff which people talk about. Am I being paranoid? I just can't seem to find a straight answer on Google!
