I'm hoping some of you mums may have some suggestions. My 4 yr old ds has been picking his nose and playing with his willy for about a year now and as we were dealing with other behaviour issues these habits were just left. Now there embedded I don't really know what to do help.

They all do this.

Boys and girls pick their noses. Encourage the use of hankie/tissue.

Boys fiddle. Girls fiddle.

All perfectly normal.

Gentle direction is the way forward ie not appropriate in public/at school/on the train/insert here.

Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear

sorry agree with BALR DS1 is 4 and he twiddles and fiddles from time to time - I thank my lucky stars he isn't like his best friend who likes to turn his willy back on itself in the bath and say to his mum look I'm a girl!

My dc do both of those things - the nosepicking I gently dissuade but the exploring of their bodies I leave up to them

Thanks everyone, I seem to have lost the plot a bit, thanks for reminding me its just what kids do (smile)
