Tween always fighting with friends

My 11-year-old dd is constantly falling out with pals these days. She's an only child and inclined to be both bossy and possessive of her friends, which we've spoken to her about many times. But I don't think it's just that. She's very soft hearted and sensitive and doesn't bitch about other girls or criticise them; that's just not her nature. Now her very best pal of several years has cut her off adn excluded her from their little group at school. Other parents tell me this is typical girl behaviour for this age group. Anyone going through anything similar? How do I deal with this?

Unfortunately it is all too common at this age. DD didn't really fall out with her friends but she has definitely changed her friendship group since starting High School.

I bought my DD a couple of the Smart Girl Guides over different things that were going on. This one might help your DD.

Does she do anything outside of school at the moment? If not, it might be worth encouraging something like Scouts where she can build up a friendship group away from these girls. The Hockey season is starting as well so it might be a good time to try a session.

Abs just to add, the Preteen Section is usually good for advice on this type of thing Thanks

thank you so much @DominicRaabsTravelAgent. She IS doing sports and other things outside of school - thankfully they've all resumed post-Covd - so that may help. Must order that book on Amazon. You're so kind to reach out and help a fellow mum
