3.5 year old behaviour

My daughter is 3.5. Previously a beautiful happy relaxed child with the odd outburst but easily reasoned with. Started 3 days a week at nursery in August, settled in well with no tears. She is quite a shy girl but has really done well with nursery.

We have recently had a 2nd baby, who is nearly 4 weeks old and since having her, my eldest's behaviour has been absolutely terrible. We are just walking on eggshells all the time because noting we do is right. She has meltdowns, hits, bites, scratches and lashes out, throws things. She won't do anything she is asked, she won't take no for an answer, she just loses it so often. We have tried reasoning, shouting, ignoring, walking away, taking away toys, not letting her do something she wants to do... Nothing is working. Getting ready in the morning is a nightmare, especially with the baby now. Luckily my husband has had time off work but will be going back next week and honestly don't know how I will do this on my own.

I know she has had a lot of changes to deal with the last month or so but j thought she would have settled by now.

Does anyone have any tips please? I am so upset by this, I'm trying to keep everything normal for her but breast feeding a newborn and trying to tackle this behaviour is so hard.

Sorry..no real advice here..but clearly she is having lots of changes in her life and its probably getting a bit overwhelmed. Give her some time..she will be fine :)

I know you're right, we are all adjusting. I just don't know how to handle it and make her feel better.
