Musical boobs

Hi.

Catchy title, eh. I feel a bit stupid posting this but I've started to struggle breastfeeding... nearly 5 months into it!

Struggle is probably the wrong word but it's like I have no idea whether my little girl is latched on properly anymore because she's too busy trying to look at any other thing in the room, blowing raspberries on my nipple, clamping it in between her gums and popping the nip in & out of her mouth constantly so it makes a funny noise. Does it hurt? No. Is it hilarious? Yes. Does it even matter if she doesn't have a "good latch" as long as she's feeding? Who freaking knows!!

I've never had sore or cracked nipples and she doesn't seem to be losing weight so I assume everything is still going fine. She definitely does feed (albeit only for a few mins) as I feel the milk coming in and hear her gulping but recently she's started to swallow a lot of air. She's also started wanting the boob more than usual - after every nap and then again before the next next, when it's usually just after her nap. I don't know whether that's because she's genuinely hungry or because she likes using my boob as as a musical instrument.

Had anyone had any similar experiences?

Thanks x

It’s normal my two used to do things like this around this age. Think they become more aware of their surroundings so too busy looking around and playing to take a full feed, so they keeping latching on and off and feed more often. I wouldn’t worry about it
