3yo Night Rejection

I had my DS2 last Dec & my toddler (DS1) adjusted very well generally. In the later stages of 2nd pregnancy my husband tended to get up with DS1 the night, which mostly involved taking him into our bed. Since DS2 arrived we’ve had a lot of changes with DS1s sleep (or so it feels…). To be brief, he went from normal cot to cot bed and finally a brand new bed in his own big room. Each of these stages came naturally and of course in DS2s newborn stage 🤯.
Anyway, DS1 for some time now simply calls for his dad at night. Sometimes this will mean DH joining in his bed, sometimes he’s hauled into ours. But if I go into him when upset, he goes into a proper meltdown/convulsion. It really does not feel normal and I am very sad (and feeling inadequate) wondering why. The kind where he gets so emotional he is literally pushing me away and won’t let me near him. I am struggling with it especially at the minute to be honest - the days with 2 of them are so full on and also due back to work soon so not a great combination.

Did anyone else experience this? And if so have you any tips?
