Why do my kids never tidy up? Need help!

I have 2 children. Daughter 7 years old and son 11 but has ASN.

I'm honestly sick of tidying up after their trail of destruction. From leaving shoes at the door to leaving bits of plastic crap everywhere.

How the hell do you get your kids to be tidy?

I have found that tacking tidying onto another (nice) task will motivate them to do it.. not everybody's cup of tea maybe but it works for us. In our case we have tea then 'Tidy after tea' kicks in and then they get screen time once they've tidied. During the day I tend to shut my eyes to the mess knowing that it will be sorted before the evening. If they want something like a snack or treat during the day and the house is a mess, it will sometimes translate into tidy up and then you can have (whatever it is). It usually works 😁 HTH 💐
